Responsibilities:
Adhere to the highest standard of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, ECAC Hockey and NCAA rules and regulations
Identification, recruitment, and retention of elite student-athletes
Knowledge and experience to contribute to practice design & delivery, positively impacting individual and team development
Mentor student-athletes to aspire and achieve academically and athletically
Facilitate individual and team video sessions
Analyze Quinnipiac and opponent game film in preparation of competition strategy
Ability to conduct high level individual skill sessions
Assist in organizing and coaching camps and clinics
Overall program administration including, liaising with admissions and NCAA compliance offices
Assist with special projects and tasks as requested by Head Coach
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience required, either as a previous successful college men's ice hockey athlete or in coaching
Knowledge of, and commitment to, NCAA rules and regulations is essential
Demonstrated ability to teach
Passion for continued growth
Effective communication, interpersonal, and technology skills
Self-motivated
Ability to recruit, teach and coach highly talented student-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment
Experience with using video breakdown, analysis, and analytics to improve team performance
Experience with managing group travel arrangements
Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice on the ice
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
