The Delran Township School District, a K-12 district committed to excellence and innovation, is accepting applications for an anticipated opening for a Supervisor of Student Services to supervise the district’s student services (special education, guidance and school nursing) for its Preschool to 5th Grade population.
Qualified candidates must possess:
NJ School Supervisor Certification or NJ Principal’s Certification
NJ Teacher of the Handicapped/NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification or NJ Educational Services Certification (School Psychologist, School Counselor, LDTC or School Social Worker)
Extensive knowledge of and/or experience in guidance counseling services, child study team services and school nursing specifically at the PS-5th grade levels.
Extensive knowledge of Federal and State special education code, compliance, and applicable case law.
Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents and community.
The Supervisor of Student Services for Grades PS-5th will:
Supervise special education teachers, instructional aides, child study team members, guidance counselors, related services personnel and school nurses.
Develop curriculum, instructional strategies and assist with the selection of materials and resources for special education students, including instructional technology management and support.
Provide and assist with positive behavior support, classroom management, problem-solving and training when needed.
Participate in IEP meetings as assigned and provide direct support to students when needed.
Act as the Special Education Test Coordinator and assist district administrators with certificated staff observations and hiring of staff and faculty.
Assist with Extended School Year hiring, planning and supervision.
Assist with annual student projections, staff assignments and staff development in all areas of Special Education, School Counseling and School Nursing.
Additional duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and/or Superintendent of Schools.
