| Summary | The Director of Student Care provides strategic leadership to ensure that CBU students receive assistance and access to appropriate University resources in times of illness, injury, or crisis. In collaboration with University staff and faculty, this person will address the physical and emotional needs of students that may affect their academic performance and engagement within the CBU community by performing the following duties. |
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities | Other duties may be assigned. - Manage the University response to unexpected student incidents (e.g., hospitalization, death of family member, crisis, etc.).
- Serve as a resource for students’ parents and family members, and support persons in times of concern and crisis to ensure appropriate care.
- Supervise, manage, train, and oversee the Assistant Director for Student Care, Administrative Secretary for Student Support and division employees.
- Develop pertinent initiatives, strategies, goals, and objectives that extend effective care to students.
- Raise awareness of Student Care resources among students at various times throughout the year.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with CBU community members (colleges, schools, and departments)to ensure visibility and awareness of Student Care processes and resources related to student wellbeing.
- Ensure effective case management through communication with staff and faculty regarding appropriate for students served.
- Coordinate reintegration of students to campus community, as required.
- Chair the University CARE Team to ensure cross-divisional, inter-departmental communication regarding students in need.
- Serve on the University Behavioral Intervention Team.
- Recommend and assist in the development of University policies and procedures related to care of students.
- Serve as cost center manager for Student Care, developing and managing the departmental budget.
- Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement within Student Care.
- Serve as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
- Serve as a member of other University teams and committees that require representation from Student Care as assigned.

| Supervisory Responsibilities | Directly supervises, manages, trains, and oversees the Assistant Director for Student Care, Administrative Secretary for Student Support and division employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. |
