Job Abstract

SUMMARY

The Senior (Sr.) Business Analyst serves as a liaison between the business groups and IT, interacting with system users to create and maintain the strategic partnership for bridging business needs with technology delivery. This individual works closely with the business partners to enable business capabilities through IT solutions. The Sr. IT Business Analyst - SAP EWM primary responsibility is to formulate and define project focused business scope and objectives based on user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and typical industry requirements. This position must be skilled in various techniques and understand when each should be applied based on the delivery methodology being used, whether traditional waterfall or Agile. They also serve as key partners to the IT Quality Assurance team to ensure solution requirements are converted to effective test plans, and to Solutions Architects, Development Teams and Project Managers for decisions on selection and design of technology solutions to meet the business requirements.

As a senior team member within the IT organization, this role will contribute daily to the health of JOANN's IT systems. This role will also be expected to coordinate small IT projects when needed and may act as a product owner for teams leveraging Agile delivery.

JOB DUTIES

• Business Requirements:
  • Documents functional and non-functional requirements and other deliverables to translate business needs for IT solution teams.
  • Facilitates the understanding, clarification, and implementation of business requirements and works with key partners in IT to turn those into functional system designs.

• Demand Management:
  • Works with Portfolio Manager, Technical resources and business leads to manage project demand intake through internal IT planning processes.
  • Transitions projects to assigned project managers.

• Project Management:
  • Leads small projects in support of business objectives.
  • Manages resources according to project schedule and deadlines.
  • Identifies and drives resolution of critical issues impacting the successful delivery of the project.

• Process Design & Change Management:
  • Creates current and future state process maps and design.
  • Implements change management and training plans for successful project adoption.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education Minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field or equivalent work experience

Experience Minimum: 5+ years' experience as a Senior/Level professional in an IT technology environment. This experience should include technical requirements capture, Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC), and Waterfall and/or Agile project methodologies. Strong SAP EWM is a must.

Experience Preferred: Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) & Certified Scrum Product Owner

  • Ability to apply the proper process based on audience to attain the expected outcomes.

  • Ability to express ideas, information or other content in a clear manner.
  • Ability to actively listen to ensure ideas generated by stakeholders are clearly understood.
• Project Management:
  • Experience leading projects through structured SDLC processes to successful completion leveraging industry defined best practices.
• Scrum Product Owner:
  • Experience performing product owner role within Agile Scrum framework.
