The University of La Verne’s Department of Theatre Arts invites application for on full-time, ten-month, Tenure-track position. This position will begin with the 2017-2018 academic year. The areas of specialization include (a) ability to teach courses in scenic and/or lighting design, (b) teach a variety of other courses in the Theatre Arts Program, and (c ) complete designs for productions in the Department of Theatre Arts.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications include a terminal degree (Ph.D. or M.F.A.) in a theatre discipline.
Demonstrates record of or potential for excellence in teaching with a record of work in theatre design and/or technology.
proficiency in the use of industry-standard tools.
commitment to serving a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or potential in teaching other areas of theatre study (e.g. Theatre History or Literature).
Experience and competency in directing. This colleague also will contribute to current efforts and expand the potential to offer discussions of theatre within diverse communities in both curricular, including general education courses, and production activities.
