Qualifications:
CT certification as a Music Teacher (049) in K-12 Music
Understanding of content and performance standards in General Music at the elementary level
Preferred experience working with elementary school students
Strong classroom management skills
Experience with chorus
Experience with beginner band/instrumental instruction
Strong communications skills
Responsibilities:
Provides basic vocal and instrumental instruction for students in grade K-5
Knowledge of the Orff approach preferred
Communicates with parents and school staff on individual student’s progress and ensemble rehearsals
Cooperation with staff in providing musical programs for school assemblies
