The Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC) is a consortium of renowned experts who are world leaders in investigating ways to prevent disease and promote health. Their work is focused on identifying the most practical, science-based solutions for addressing some of society's most pervasive and preventable health issues, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions and to raise the standards of scientific investigation that matters for health. SPRC investigators are collaborating on numerous, long-term projects designed to translate research into effective ways to promote well-being at every stage of life.
Born in 2024 within the Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC), the Stanford Sports Equity Center (SSEC) is a pioneering research lab dedicated to advancing the understanding of social justice issues within the realm of sports. Our interdisciplinary team of researchers explores the intersection of sports, society, and equity to drive positive change in the sporting world.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.A. preferred) in a relevant field such as sociology, sports studies, sports performance, exercise physiology, or organizational management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in research operations, project management, or related roles, preferably in an academic or nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and equity issues, particularly within the context of sports.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor's degree and three or more years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
- Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
- Ability to oversee and direct staff.
- Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
- For teaching jobs, advanced degree or certification may be required for some programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
- Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
- Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.
- On-campus mobility.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May work extended hours, evenings or weekends.
- May travel locally.
- Occasional overnight travel.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $77,000 to $139,000 per annum.
