Job Abstract

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director, renders professional guidance to other staff in accordance with standards of practice, in order to effectively manage department responsibilities. Represent leadership to ensure quality work is consistent with St. Joseph Medical Center goals and objectives, and is provided according to various regulatory Agency Standards. Maintains staffing congruent with a described delivery system reflective of hospital standards.

1. Licensed as a Registered Nurse accepted by Texas State Board of Nursing to engage in professional nursing.
2. Active: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS
3. Technical, clerical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care/area.
4. Certification requirements as defined by the certification policy.
5. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

1. Baccalaureate degree or progression to this degree
2. Emergency Room Experience
