Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) invites applications for a specialized teaching position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor in Marketing starting as early as Fall 2024. This is a contractual position for 3 academic years and may be renewed.
We invite applications from candidates with strong teaching credentials or potential, in fields of marketing at the MBA and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to teach a select subset of courses from the fields of Digital Marketing, Digital Analytics, Research Method, Marketing Decision Analytics, and Marketing Management. The department may also consider interests in Marketing Strategy, AI and Strategy, Neuroscience/Neuromarketing, and Distribution. Candidates must have an interest in developing new and innovative courses in evolving fields of marketing.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach a six-course load, and perform service for the Department and School. This is primarily a teaching and service position, but university faculty are expected to stay current with the managerial literature and, depending on teaching load, may be asked to do some publication related to teaching such as cases, texts, or articles in practitioner or education journals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D./DBA in marketing or a closely related field or have a Master’s degree in such fields with a commitment to pursue a doctoral degree. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for teaching excellence and the communication skills to perform well in the classroom.
