Minimum Qualifications:
1. Formal Education Required:
a. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a school accepted for candidacy status from an accrediting body.
b. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio
c. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
d. Current Neonatal Resuscitation (NR) Certification
2. Experience & Training Required:
a. One (1) year minimum experience as a Registered Nurse in obstetrics, post-partum, mother/baby, or NICU nursing
3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Ability to achieve certification from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. (IBCLC)
b. Available to work variable hours to cover 12 hours a day, 7 days a week
c. Ability to utilize alternate feeding methods devices, to perform breast/nipple assessments, oral assessments on infants, and identify proper latch and nutritional intake of infants
d. Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills for individual or phone consultations
e. Knowledge of computers for reports, documentation and data entry and reporting
f. Population Specific Competency: ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
