UPMC Horizon- Shenango Valley, located in Farrell, PA is looking for a full-time Journeyman / Stationary Engineer to operate, maintain and round a variety of mechanical equipment in a hospital environment as assigned. This position requires skills in a variety of areas, including carpentry, plumbing, heating and fire alarm systems. This full-time role will work 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. shifts. On call, weekend rotation, and working off shifts and holidays is required. Travel to support UPMC Horizon-Greenville, as needed, could be required for the role.

Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently operate and maintain all mechanical systems, i.e., steam pressure heating systems, water systems, ventilation systems, refrigeration equipment, etc.; round mechanical equipment and machine rooms in all buildings as assigned.
Journeyman 2- Stationary Engineer:

Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required. Military experience considered.
2 years' stationary engineer work experience working in a healthcare or commercial building environment.
Journeyman 2- Stationary Engineer:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship program is required.
Knowledge of maintenance and minor repairs for refrigeration, heating, plumbing, ventilation, electrical, sanitation, fire alarm system, building direct digital controls, medical gas systems, water chemistry, pneumatic controls, steam distribution and other hospital equipment is necessary.
Knowledge of fire and safety regulations is necessary.
Must possess the ability to respond to a variety of situations in difficult positions by the use of ladders, catwalks, crawl spaces, etc.
Three or more years' experience working in a hospital or commercial building environment is required OR what is required by local governing authority.
May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Driver's License. NIULPE Class 4 or 5 engineer license required within 30 days of hire. If in Pennsylvania, City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineer license required within 30 days of hire OR what is required per the local or state governing authority, *must meet applicable local codes
