With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Lead research explorations or applied AI efforts to develop Generative AI in partnership with Google DeepMind, and Technical Infrastructure to transform software development workflows at Google (e.g., AI assisted coding, AI assisted debugging, AI assisted testing, AI chat agent as a collaborator on all tasks through a developer’s entire journey.)
- Collaborate with Google DeepMind, Developer AI Applied Research and Google partner teams (e.g., Search, Ads, Cloud, YouTube, etc.) to aim, explore and deliver new Generative AI capabilities to improve developer’s workflow.
- Collaborate with Developer AI Platform teams to enable delivery of new Generative AI capabilities at Google scale.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 7 years of experience with research or applied AI (e.g., deep learning, natural language processing).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
- 3 years of experience in a team management or leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with research or applied AI and building foundation models in software development or equivalent domain.
- Experience building or landing deep learning/LLM-based products or platforms.
- Experience with prompt engineering.
- Excellent programming skills in Python, C++, Java or equivalent.
