Job Description / Essential Elements:

Brief Description: Teaches, as part of a middle school teaching assignment, one or more classes in a given subject area in grades 6 - 8, and assists in other school programs as assigned.
Major Duties & Responsibilites: Teaches skills, knowledge, concepts and attitudes in the subject area, utilizing approved courses of studies and other appropriate learning activities; develops instructional plans to organize class activities to provide maximum learning opportunities throughout the time-span of a course; develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small-group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student; evaluates students' academic growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports; communicates with parents and school counselors on the progress of individual students toward meeting the established standards of achievement for a given grade level.
Requirements / Qualifications
APPLYING FOR THIS POSITION ENABLES A UNIT MEMBER TO REQUEST A TRANSFER WITHIN THE DISTRICT FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR. IF ANY POSITIONS OPEN DURING THE PERIOD FROM THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL TO TWO (2) WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL YOU WILL BE CONTACTED BY THE SITE ADMINISTRATOR FOR AN INTERVIEW.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Possession of a valid and appropriate Single-Subject English Teaching Credential OR a Supplementary Authorization in English issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Possession of CLAD or like certificate.
