In this role, the Diabetes Nurse Practitioner will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the health of this community. The fundamental aspects of this position will be as health advocate, educator, and preventative expert. You’ll get to form strong bonds with your patients, and help them through a variety of healthcare needs. Seeing patient populations that range from expectant mothers and pediatric patients to complex care and geriatric, you’ll advise and provide through the entire continuum of care and through the stages of life.
Working with experienced Advanced Practice Providers, other ARNPs, and specialists from all over the state, the Diabetes Specialist Nurse Practitioner have plenty of opportunities to grow their clinical practice skills, as well as their professional network. This Medical Office Building offers a wide range of services to the community, including Internal and Family Medicine, Dermatology, Orthopedics, and even more specialized service lines like Endocrinology.
Reporting to the Specialty Service Line Medical Director for clinical matters, a Family Medicine Physician with over 20 years of leadership experience, this Diabetes Nurse Practitioner will have the support of another Provider that’s so important in a Specialist role like this. This person will also work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure strong patient satisfaction scores, seamless hand-offs for patients, and to ensure quality care.
As a Diabetes Specialist, this Nurse Practitioner will primary work with patients from the Endocrinology Service Line. Strong experience providing care to patients with Type 1 Diabetes, with Insulin Pumps, and with Continuous Glucose Monitoring Software (CGMS) will be expected for the Nurse Practitioner to meet the needs of their community. As such, certification as a CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) will surely earn this provider a speedy interview.
