Job Description Summary
Lab and administrative support at the Economic Science Institute.
Responsibilities
Assist with testing, debugging, and preparing faculty’s research experiments.
Ensuring research assistants follow research protocol and methodology in the lab. Assist and facilitate students’ understanding of key concepts, applications, and strategies. Be available and knowledgeable to answer student’s questions.
Data entry
Conduct written summaries for faculty researchers. Searching for papers for professors that have particular keywords. Assist in proofreading and manuscript preparation.
Assist faculty and lab manager as needed.
Attend recruitment opportunities and provide information to interested experiment subjects.
Give presentations and present results to agencies supporting research and academic conferences, classroom presentations, and research endeavors at campus functions.
Perform administrative duties as needed. Arrange and attend meetings with research faculty. Run errands around campus.
Required Qualifications
Fully knowledgeable about the job; be able to handle responsibilities independently and effectively.
Possess an undergraduate or master’s degree in a similar and/or related field.
Data analysis experience. Statistical software experience.
Administrative and clerical skills: Data Entry, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Accounting, and Organization.
Experience using Microsoft O?ce Suite applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficient in verbal and written communication.
Skill in reading and reducing academic economics papers into essential outlines.
Computer programming experience (Python, and Z or Otree).
Enrollment in a PhD program.
Desired Qualifications
Previous human subject research experience.
Completed ESI courses and knowledge of class material.
Completed CITI –Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative: Human Subjects Research (HSR).
Experience working and engaging with a diverse population. Experience in customer service and/or enjoys working with people.
Effective written and oral communication skills; strong editing and proofreading skills.
