Position Purpose
Albertson’s Companies is looking for people who are interested in re-imagining the grocery experience by harnessing the power of digital technologies. The Product Management team has broad responsibility to leverage digital technologies to build best in class, omnichannel customer experiences and maximize return on investment.
This Senior Product Manager will relentlessly drive the digital product vision, strategy, and roadmap to enhance our shopping list capabilities and trip planning tools to seamlessly improve the customer experience and drive engagement. This position will develop a deep understanding of consumer pain points and unmet needs in the shopping planning process through data analysis, customer feedback and qualitative/quantitative research. This position will be responsible for driving an iterative, customer-first product development approach, rapidly testing new ideas, analyzing results, and optimizing based on learnings.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Ability to dive deep into product analytics and customer data to continually monitor performance and health, identify optimization opportunities, and drive the right enhancements at the right time; clearly communicate insights, recommendations and weekly metrics that matter to senior leadership.
- Gather input from a variety of internal and external sources to define product concepts leveraging data; respond to the needs of customers throughout the product development process; analyzes competitors and stays abreast of market trends; evaluates technologies; develops detailed requirements, feature definitions, launch plans, and internal communications.
- Leverage AI/ ML technologies to create intelligent list-building features that learn from customer preferences, provide personalized product recommendations and automate list creation based on purchase history.
- Bring cross-functional teams together during the product development lifecycle, including prioritization of features, deployment and post-deployment activities to successfully deliver roadmap.
- Ability to anticipate upstream and downstream impacts of the project and work with internal business groups to make necessary adjustments to support forward movement of new features and functionality.
- Identify areas that require customer research and propose research activities to direct supervisor and user experience team. Partners with user experience team to user-test designs through mock-ups, functional prototypes, etc. to ensure they are meeting intended goals and customer expectations.
- Effectively influences and collaborates with others, presenting and securing approval from senior management and other key stakeholders, as necessary.
- Responsible for communicating product solutions and benefits to customers and stakeholders; including knowledge transfer and training for on-going analysis and management of features.
- Development of business cases, including financial models that outline the benefits of feature functionality; ability to pitch and sell new concepts through persuasive oral and written presentations.
The salary range is $131,000.00 to $181,000.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
Write detailed user stories as a part of the product development lifecycle that:
- Directly support primary objectives of the project, including ADA and analytics requirements
- Are appropriate in size for iterative, agile development
- Include clear and specific acceptance criteria
- Consider dependencies on other teams, stories and/or projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7+ years of product management experience in eCommerce and/or omnichannel, retail tech or related consumer-facing industries
- Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems
- Data-driven/analytical mindset, strong prioritization and negotiating skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to align cross-functional teams around a cohesive product vision
- Successful track record leading the full product lifecycle from strategy to execution for customer-facing digital capabilities
- Strong technical ability to translate user needs into requirements, user stories and development of acceptance criteria in an agile environment
- Usability and customer-facing design experience a plus
- Experience with A/B and experimentation testing a plus
Experience must include:
- Proven track record of designing and delivering delightful customer experiences that create customer and business value
- Demonstrated ability to create an overarching product vision, using data and analysis to support strategy and prioritization, and day to day product execution
- Experience working with both onshore and offshore engineering teams to build features and ensure quality of delivery, including sprint planning, product backlog management, technical sizing of tasks, and feature prioritization.
- Technical experience with the implementation of mobile SDKs, analytics tagging, and ADA compliance
- Technical fluency; comfortable understanding and discussing technology concepts, experience evaluating trade-offs and new opportunities with technical team members
- Experience with mobile app product management preferred
