We are actively seeking a talented Sr. Information Security Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters in Southern California. As a Sr. Information Security Engineer, you will play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by securing our perimeter, systems, devices, and platforms while keeping an eye on emerging threats and vulnerabilities. You will join an enterprise-focused team within Pacific Life Technology where your colleagues will include like-minded professionals with expertise in areas such as Microsoft 365, endpoint devices, identity, and network.
How you’ll help move us forward:
- Define security requirements, identify vulnerabilities and implement remediation plans
- Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, cloud platforms, and 3rd party software
- Research vulnerabilities, malware, and other exposures to core infrastructure and end user devices
- Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
- Liaise with Line 2 risk areas (e.g., Enterprise Information Security Office, Operational Risk, Internal Audit, etc.) on the governance, response, and reporting of IT issues
The experience you bring:
- 10+ years of security and infrastructure engineering related work experience
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure), data center, compute and storage systems, active directory, and Windows/Linux operating systems
- Hands-on experience with security systems, including computer system logs, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
- Problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure and with others
What makes you stand out:
- Experience with technologies geared toward managing, configuring, and securing end user devices such as Crowdstrike Falcon, Microsoft Intune and other Microsoft Endpoint configuration tools
- Experience with technologies geared toward protecting, and configuring device access to cloud apps such as Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Purview
- CISSP or SANS Security/Forensic Certifications
- MSCE Certification

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$159,660.00 - $195,140.00
