DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a high judgment, audience-obsessed, creative, and results-driven communications professional to lead executive communications for AWS Industries, a part of the AWS organization that supports customers across key sectorsFinancial Services, Telecommunications, Media, Entertainment, Games & Sports, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Energy & Utilities, and Automotive & Manufacturingon their digital transformation journeys, leveraging industry-specific insights to drive innovation and efficiency.
This role will join the AWS Global Communications team, working closely with sales and marketing teams to increase visibility for leaders, customer stories, and employee programs. The role works closely across teams, including AWS Employer Brand, AWS HR Communications, AWS Internal Communications, AWS PR teams, and more, and is part of Amazons overall Global Communications and Community Impact organization. The Executive Communications function is responsible for developing communications that effectively promote and enhance the reputation and visibility of AWS as the leading cloud provider. This person works closely with senior leaders to develop key messages, prepare speeches and presentations, build leader profiles through events, social media, and overall thought leadership.
Key job responsibilities
- Strategic Communications Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to support AWSs objectives and priorities. Collaborate with select senior stakeholders to define key messages and ensure consistent communication across various channels. Conduct research and monitor industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for enhancing executive communications.
- Thought leadership and Messaging: Craft clear and impactful messaging that resonate with both internal and external audiences. Develop talking points, presentations, and other communication materials for executives that align with the organizations vision and goals. Collaborate with executives to ensure their AWSs voice and message is effectively conveyed, and develop clear and concise briefing materials.
- External and Internal Communication Support: Develop strategy for and execute high visibility moments with leaders for events, managing keynotes and other speaking engagements for select leaders, including internal global meetings, video script writing, social media content creation and execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PR, AR, Legal, Employee Comms) to ensure consistent messaging and alignment on key topics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Experience creating content for leaders of complex tech organizations: digital, written, video, and/or audio communications materials
- Track record in communications or PR for senior business leaders
- Proficient in using various communication channels and tools, including social media platforms
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Portfolio of work demonstrating the ability to tell complex stories in relatable terms
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work effectively with executives and stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, anticipate challenges, and develop proactive communication strategies
- Self-motivated individual requiring minimal direction
- Demonstrated experience building trust and influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to think strategically and implement ideas from ideation to measurement/evaluation
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
