Building & Construction Market Manager optimizes sales growth and profitability in support of the business unit’s sales strategy and objectives.
Primary responsibilities include the management and coordination of activities of the commercial team through the entire sales cycle. This role is responsible for the over-all commercial management and direction of the SBU, with ultimate responsibility for top line revenue generation. This position requires extensive coordination and communication with external customers as well as internal associates including technical support, customer service, finance, operations and product development. This position will be responsible for a business portfolio of $30 – $40 million in annual revenue.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field)
Experience: Minimum 5 years of industry sales experience in relevant product industries (e.g., color, profile extrusion, plastics/plastic compounding, and paints/inks)
-Minimum 2 years in a sales account management role in relevant product industries
-Minimum 2 years of managing a team of direct reports
-Custom compounding experience highly desirable
-Functional knowledge of injection molding processes highly desirable
Skills: Strong financial background; MS Office (PPT, Excel); database proficiency; strong leadership skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Travel Required up to 50%

- Commercial leader for SBU
- Analyze business performance against budgets and goals and create paths to achieve
- Direct management of sales team, field service team and customer service team
- Lead cross functional business team in support of SBU objectives
- Prioritize and direct the product development efforts for SBU
- Drive business growth objectives in SBU
- Assist in defining and execution of global SBU strategy
- Development and guidance of sales team to achieve sales and profit goals
- Assist Account Managers with account strategies
- Develop and prepare reports for EC reviews
- Performance management of direct report structure
- Identify competitive threats and create action plans to counter
- Responsible for annual and monthly forecasting and budgeting process for SBU
- Identify and implement new systems and procedures that maximize efficiencies for the organization
- Identify industry trends and create strategies to gain market share
