Under the direction of the Director, the ED Tech performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related procedures in caring for the needs of the patients. High School Diploma
BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and demonstrated writing skills
Proven track record of compassionate care & superior service and a commitment to providing healthcare excellence…always

Preferred:

College degree
One (1) year of Nurse Aide/Assistant or EMT experience
At least one (1) year experience as a phlebotomist or EKG Technician with healthcare background

Certifications and Licenses:

BLS certification through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

Days 6:30AM - 7:30PM
Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
Full-Time (37.5 hrs)
2 Week Mandatory Orientation

Essential Functions:

Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, B/P, height/weight and intake/output measurements accurately – reports findings outside of normal range to RN
Provides assistance with ADL’s to assigned patients
Provides assistance with nutritional needs of the patients, including feeding, mealtime- assistance/set-up, supplying fluids, refilling water pitchers, and delivering supplemental snacks
Lifts, moves, turns, and transports patients out of their bed, chair, stretcher, wheelchair, portable mechanical lift, etc, maintaining proper body mechanics
Performs laboratory procedures as noted: venipuncture, EKG, GTT, blood culture, urine collection procedures and other laboratory procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse
Demonstrates the 4’C’s of Commitment, Compassion, Competence, and Communication
