The OpEx Accounting team is responsible for all of the operating expenses generated by the North America Consumer operations business. This position requires a self-starter who will be responsible for supporting new product launches and partner launch efforts, in addition to supporting various aspects of our monthly accounting and reporting process. Key job responsibilities Responsible for the monthly accounting close including preparing journal entries, analyzing and explaining fluctuations and variances, and providing meaningful financial reporting to management. Prepare and review account reconciliations. Collaborate with cross-functional business partners including Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology teams to maintain flow of communication and support. Understand relevant accounting principles and communicate the application of GAAP to peers and business partners. Analyze current procedures. Recommend, develop, and drive process improvements to achieve efficiency and scalability. Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues related to unprocessed system transactions. Support external audit process and escalates any inefficiency to management Assess internal controls, identify gaps in the control process, and design additional controls to solve deficiencies. Contribute to manual effort reduction projects. Build trust with senior management through effective communication.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience - Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency - Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification - Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients - Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
