Job Summary/Basic Function | The Parking Support Technician provides clerical support to the Chief of Police and the police department, including typing, filing, reception desk, and all phone, written, and personal contacts to the department. The Parking Support Technician reports to the Investigative & Administrative Sections (I&AS) Supervisor and serves as the operational and technological point person for all parking and records management of the University Police. The Parking Support Technician performs a variety of routine and complex duties, handling each independently based on initial verbal or written instructions. Assignments are given on a project basis by an administrative supervisor and are reviewed for the adherence to instructions, plans, and standards. This position performs duties in both the parking services office and police records section.

Required Qualifications | - Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 OR graduation from high school OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Job Description | General Office Duties: - Work at window/desk in the Parking Division in the lower level of the Millersville Campus Police Station.
- Assist students, staff/faculty, and civilians with parking questions/concerns and ticket questions that might be asked.
- Answer the telephone and assist with questions that might be asked.
- Respond to voicemail that is left for the Parking Division that is related to parking tickets and perking permit concerns. Forward any other questions or concerns other than parking related concerns to Campus Police.
- Assist with students or civilians that need assistance from Campus Police (not related to parking).
- Sort and process any mail that is received for the Police/Parking Division.
- Assist departments on campus by providing information about parking and supplying temporary permits for special events, etc.
- Place requisition orders through the use of the SAP finance system (back up).
- Use the Banner system to look up student information.
- Assist University Police officers that need assistance in finding current students on campus.
- Look up a student’s class schedule and assist in finding where a student is at the current time.
- Responsible for payroll for the University Police Department (back up).
- Help Police Officers with various duties such as typing out reports, letters, flyers.
- Maintain a library of resources, source information, catalogues, and contact information for parking program, parking enforcement and parking and traffic control supplies.
- Maintain a calendar of deadlines for printing, processing, mailings, application period for, and issuing of, parking permits.
- Maintain process and filing systems for printing, processing, mailings, applications for and issuing of parking permits and parking tickets.
Ticket Entry:
- Enter handwritten tickets into the TickeTrak System.
- File all tickets, in order, in a file cabinet for future reference.
- Maintain and update handheld ticket writers with current information.
- Maintain and keep up to date a list of all current students that have numerous outstanding tickets (boot/tow list).
- Enter into the TickeTrak system any payments of tickets that have been received.
- Enter all ticket payments into the cash register after ticket payments are entered into the TickeTrak system.
- Access online ticket portal to process payment made through this portal.
- Enter ticket payments from the online portal into the TickeTrak system.
- Pull any tickets that have been paid from our filing system that needs to be destroyed.
Permits:
- Access online portal for purchased permits (in office and special events)
- Input and issue permits through the TickeTrak system via our online permit portal
- Add and maintain up-to-date information for all current students using the Ticke Trak system.
- Maintain a program of managing different types of parking permits that will serve key constituencies and their needs.
Parking Duties:
- Do a daily or semi-daily deposit of all monies received for parking tickets or parking permits.
- Make sure all material and supplies are up-to date and ready to go for the next day.
- Applications and appeal forms restocked inside and outside our office, ticket deposit boxes around campus are emptied.
- Receive and process all appeals for parking tickets that are received in our office or through our website. (All on-line appeals are automatically sent to my parking e-mail).
- Responsible for design and ordering of new parking permits for the up-coming school year.
- Collate parking information from enforcement officers and address concerns, updates or changes as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
