The Senior Capital Markets Specialist within the Investment Solutions Group (ISG) Capital Markets Specialist organization, trains and supports Financial Advisors and their clients in the appropriate recommendation and utilization of Capital Markets products and solutions. The UHNW Capital Markets Specialist will be part of the ISG Specialist organization and be responsible for delivering market insights, portfolio positioning and trade level investment guidance to Ultra High Net Worth Financial Advisors and clients. Responsibilities will include synthesizing the intellectual capital content produced across the firm and proactively delivering personalized insights on macro economic and market views, portfolio positioning recommendations and offering cross-asset tactical and thematic ideas and product agnostic implementation guidance.
Responsibilities include:
- Partner with select group of Merrill Private Wealth and UHNW focused Financial Advisors and their clients to deliver market insights and cross-asset implementation and trade ideas. This will include viewpoints on the macro-economic and market environment, personalized portfolio positioning opportunities (sector, region, theme, credit, duration, rates, etc..) and trade level recommendations using a product agnostic approach
- Synthesize the intellectual capital from across the firm (CIO, Bank of America Research, Global Markets Institutional Sales & Trading, GWIM Trading, etc..) and utilize investing expertise to translate that content into a concise investment view and actionable implementation recommendations.
- Develop expertise across core capital markets implementation solutions and UHNW Capital Markets products, including: single stocks, listed options, ETFs, Market Linked Investments (Structured Notes), Closed End Funds, Exchange Funds, OTC Derivatives, etc..
- Partner with other ISG Specialists across Investment Advisory, Alternative Investments, Portfolio Consulting and Retirement to ensure that appropriate solutions are presented to clients to achieve investment goals, regardless of the product or platform
- Own the capital markets relationship with the Private Wealth Field Leaders in assigned territory (Branch Management, Regional Executives, etc…) to understand and execute on assisting them with their asset, household and revenue growth and client retention goals
Desired Skills:
- Strong investing background with experience in equity/credit research (buy or sell side), equity/fixed income sales (wealth or middle markets), portfolio management or derivatives would be appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 15+ yrs experience Financial Services experience, preferably in equity research, equity portfolio management, wealth management or middle market institutional capital markets (preferably equity) sales
- Client facing experience and ability to engage with sophisticated clients, including UHNW individuals and Family Offices
- Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze complex investing concepts and products, while being able to communicate those complex topics in an easy to understand manner
- Public speaking ability across multiple settings will be critical. Role will require presentations to large client/Advisor audiences, in small group settings and one-on-one meetings.
- 7,66 required or ability to get within 120 days.
