School Nurse

Catapult Learning is seeking a part-time, school nurse to work in at the Hoboken Catholic Academy in Hoboken, NJ for the 2023-2024 school year. Candidates must have an active NJ RN License. The ideal candidate will have experience with pediatric patients. This is a part time, 3 days/week, about 18 hours/week position, with a compensation of $38/hr.
How you’ll be there for students:
Conduct COVID contact tracing and reporting; promote and educate on company/school policies with regard to COVID
Review immunization records for school age children
Assist with Medical/Dental Screenings
Prepare and file state reports as required by law
Conduct audiometric, scoliosis, vision, and height and weight screenings
Provide other optional screenings as needed, ex. Blood Pressure, Lice
Maintain student health records
Administer medication and/or treatment when necessary for pupils to attend school
Provide first aid and emergency care to all school age children
Provide the following services as promulgated by individual State Law/Regulation:
Notify parent/guardian if a screening defect is found upon screening and recommend appropriate follow-up
Observe and recommend to principal, exclusion of students who show evidence of communicable diseases and/or whose immunization records are not received from parent/guardian after numerous attempts.
Submit monthly report of health services and screenings performed to Catapult Learning Area Manager

Current Valid NJ RN License
Experience with children/school-aged students in a school setting or pediatrics experience preferred but not required
Current Basic Life Support CPR - Professional Rescuer or Healthcare Provider card
A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards students, administration, parents, and other internal and external customers
