Discription: Teacher of Bilingual Spanish ELA

Job Summary:

• Foster a nurturing and trusting academic environment

• Implement the new ELA New Jersey Learning Standards and the WIDA English Language Development Standards in the delivery of daily academic instruction

• Establish clear objectives that reflect the standards and bilingual language development methodology

• Develop learning activities and use differentiated instruction to address the various types of learners

• Use varied assessments to drive instruction

• Document and track student performance

• Differentiates academic and linguistic instruction for students at varying levels of attainment, including providing literacy intervention strategies

• Utilize technology effectively in daily lessons, including gathering and managing student data as required by the district and school administrator

• Establish a nurturing and safe learning environment

• Highly motivated result-driven educator

• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators and the community.

• Performs non-instructional duties with timeliness and accuracy

• Continues to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences.

• Maintains a reflective teaching practice.

Qualifications:

• Hold New Jersey Teacher Certifications in Language Arts/Literacy or English with Bilingual/Bicultural Education endorsement

• Have excellent bilingual literacy skills in English and Spanish

Working Conditions: Hackensack Middle School

Salary: Per HBOE/HEA Agreement
