The Maintenance Craftsman is responsible for building and grounds painting tasks by performing the following duties:
Job Duties:
- Grounds maintenance: snow removal, rubbish removal, recycle pickup.
- Building maintenance: painting, equipment/furniture moves and set-ups.
- Operate and utilize tools of the trade including some heavy equipment
- General repairs and installation of structural components and materials
- General labor assignments
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school or equivalent from an accredited school
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in general commercial construction (painting)
- Knowledge of some of the following skills: Drywall, tile, carpentry, masonry, concrete, painting, reading prints and diagrams, tools of the trade.
- Demonstrates good communication skills and has the ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Strong dependability
- Problem-solving skills
- Customer focused
- Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
- Willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays and call-ins
- Considered a plus:
- Snowplowing experience
- Previous chemical plant experience or knowledge of chemical hazards
- Formal technical/trade schools or certifications
- Computer skills
- Previous experience in a team-based work environment
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Working on ladders, lifts, pipe racks and in confined spaces.
- Wearing all required personal protective equipment.
