Financial Clearance Associate’s Responsibilities

Verify the eligibility/benefits, pre-authorization requirements, available payment options, financial counseling, and other identified clearance-related duties.
Collaborate with Patient Access, payors, third-party vendors, patients, and other identified representatives internal or external to the institution to financially clear patients for care.
Escalate financial clearance issues to the direct supervisor or coordinator to resolve.

Financial Clearance Associate’s Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED is required; an associate degree in business, healthcare, or a related field is required.
Three (3) years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field is required; Five (5) years of business experience in healthcare, insurance, or a multi-specialty physician practice is highly preferred.
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certifications are highly preferred but not required.
