Job Summary
The Special Education Teacher provides individualized education programs to students. The teacher is responsible for developing, implementing, and relating the daily activities of the students to the core curriculum. Through continuous collaboration with a variety of individuals and groups, including parents, district and county personnel and various agencies, the Teacher provides for the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student by using a variety of instructional strategies. The Teacher continually assesses students’ progress to maximize their fullest potential.
For the current assignment, the Special Education Teacher, Deaf/Hard of Hearing provides individual education programs for students who have been assessed as having mild to profound hearing disorders, which cannot be remediated, in other Special Education programs or in the regular classroom.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service to students with Deaf and Hard of Hearing disabilities OR qualifies to obtain the authorization/waiver.
