Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Journeyman Security Specialist to join our team in the Washington, D.C. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Security Specialist supports security policy and guidance for handling and safeguarding Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Support instructions, policies, procedures, reviews, and compliance for the SCIF lifecycle.
- Provide services in one or more of the following areas: Personnel Security, Physical Security, Information Security, and or Communications Security Processes incoming and outgoing Visit Authorization Request (VAR).
- Process request for classified system accounts.
- Assist in providing password to User for classified account.
- Process Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates.
- Assist with forwarding Foreign Travel documents. They program badges for access to secure environment.
- Respond to access control system alert, verify access, and allow entry to secure area for cleared personnel without badge access.
- Assist and escort uncleared personnel in secure area.
- Researches online cost of security supplies and services and completes forms in the automated Support Tasks and Tracker (STAT).
- Place and schedule calls for equipment repair.
- Attend security meetings and other meetings.
- Complete virtual training or local training in support of duties if required.
- Assist with updating continuity books for duties and responsibilities that are performed inside the SCIF.
- Conduct outreach with other organizations to ensure best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand design plans for purposed technical security upgrades.
- Understanding of, and experience-based familiarity with, information and technical security practices within the Information Technology environment required to establish and maintain system integrity for safeguarding classified information in a secure environment.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate actions effectively with individuals at all organizational and management levels. Knowledge of CBP, DHS and IC databases and tools to gather, review and collate message traffic and other communications.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DHS suitability
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
