Job Abstract

This opportunity is open to all interested candidates and this recruitment will establish an Eligibility List for the current 32.5 hours per week, 10-month vacancy as well as any future vacancies. This list will be active for three (3) months with the possibility to be extended.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of 24 units of college or university coursework related to the assignment, and five years of paid experience working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and use manual communication. Additional training and/or experience of acceptable level and quality may be substituted for the education requirement. Mentoring experience is desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided). Possession of one of the following certifications is required: (Please attach to your online application prior to finalizing and submitting your application.) Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) [Certificate of Interpretation (CI) and Certificate of Transliteration (CT), or National Interpreter Certification (NIC)], OR Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Level 5.0; OR National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Level 4.0-5.0
