BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Director, Instructional Support, assigned to support Educator and Leader Growth and Development, in the Diversity, Inclusion & Development Department, will plan, organize, manage, and direct the daily operations of assigned functions within the Department of Graduation, Thriving School Communities, or Equity, Access & Opportunity Departments; conduct research, analyze data, and prepare statistical reports to support and implement best practices; provide ongoing direction and guidance to the overall instructional program as well as leadership, direction and supervision to assigned instructional support programs and staff.
The incumbent will also plan, organize, develop, and assess multiple programs designed to support the professional development needs of district educators and administrators at various stages of their career. POSITION SPECIFICS:
Working Location is based out of Thriving School Communities - Student Services Department - 4100 Normal Street, San Diego, CA 92103.
Scheduled for 12 months / 248 days per year.
This position is anticipated to be filled for the start of the 2024-2025 school year, pending Board of Education approval.
Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents.
The Director, Counseling, will be paid on the AASD Certificated Supervisors Salary Schedule Salary Grade 032.

MININUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to a Master’s degree in education or closely related field and five (5) years of supervisory or administrative experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).
