Job Abstract

Whether through a traditional educational environment like Riverside Preparatory School, which has three campuses that serve K-12, or an independent study option at one of Mojave River Academy's 13 centers located throughout Southern California, the Oro Grande School District offers a rigorous 21st century curriculum that prepares our students to compete in today’s global marketplace.

Under the supervision of the site administrator the counselor will provide guidance and assistance to students in meeting their personal, social, academic and career needs. The counselor will assist students in their preparations for postsecondary education opportunities, the work force and continued lifelong learning. Work with Student Services regarding the appropriate placement of students with special educational/ELL needs. Evaluate transcripts, design curricular path to meet the needs of state and district graduation requirements. Assist the Center Administrator in all school events including coordinating graduation. Assist the Center Administrator and communicate with the Mojave River Academy School 501(c)(3)Board as needed. Assist the Center Administrator with the oversight and supervision of all State required testing. Assist the Center Administrator with all necessary State reporting. Assist the Center Administrator with the WASC process. · Other duties as assigned.
