Job Description Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking an experienced and passionate Software Leader to be the Lead for a project within our Synthetic Systems, Modeling & Simulation organization.
In this role, you will:- Collaborate with leaders and partners to ensure Software Engineering objectives are achieved
- Support the Chief Engineer as a key member of the leadership team
- Act as the focal point for all process improvement initiatives with a focus on synchronizing integration partners and system development requirements.
- Establish goals and standards of performance, create budgets, short and long-term strategic plans that are aligned with the direction of the program
- Manage our Software Engineering standard tools and support program teams with modernized infrastructure and tools technologies.
- Lead, coach, and build a diverse, inclusive, high-performing team where all team members can do their best work
- Help the team plan and execute technical deliverables
- Work closely with our external partners to support the team’s mission
- Collaborate closely with teams within BAE to leverage the best technology to advance the team’s mission
- Support recruiting, hiring and staffing to meet business requirements with a focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Promote leverage, knowledge transfer and sharing and career development by establishing a culture focused on collaboration, mentoring and learning, leading to a stronger workforce
- Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach
- The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Software related discipline and 10+ years’ experience
- Experience with managing and coordinating DOD Contracts
- Technical and people leadership experience in Software or related discipline
- Highly familiar with software engineering process, people, tools and technology
- Strong team building skills that enable partnership and collaboration within and across teams and functions
- Demonstrated communication, critical thinking skills and decision-making ability
- Passionate about developing and mentoring others
- Experience with Agile development practices and/or DevSecOps
- Familiarity with management tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence) or equivalent
- Familiar with software metrics collection and data analytics
- Experience in Modeling & Simulation Development
- Earned Value Management and Control Account Management experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Software related discipline or Business Administration
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C,C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience
- Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries
- Experience?in DevOps to?maintain live services and\\or application frameworks
- Cloud and services experience, with AWS cloud experience highly desirable
- Analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design
- Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
