Senior Systems Engineer – ESRE Stores
About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. you will support retail stores production operations on the stores Support team as an engineer who solves problems at root cause. You already enjoy solving problems using automation as your first choice, even when it’s a task you think you might perform only once. Your documentation and communication skills are above par, and you have prior experience working in a production support capacity as Systems, Site Reliability, DevOps, or similar role.
Your primary focus will be on the resilience, operability, stability, and scalability of the Williams-Sonoma family of brands’ retail stores and to ensure that the Omni and In-Store enterprise applications maintain optimal availability for our users. You will collaborate with a full-stack team of peers to monitor, detect, and investigate anomalous behaviors as well as to correct and enhance systems already in production, as well to deliver features, and facilitate more efficient software business process.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing log analysis and application performance management (APM), using AppD and OpenSearch.
- Demonstrable preference for approaching work via automation as a first choice.
- Experience providing hands-on monitoring as well as authoring monitoring and alerting using multiple toolsets.
- Experience writing standard operating procedures and rigorous adherence to same.
- Demonstrable experience with production operations issue management and response.
- Collaborate with internal support and engineering teams and 3rd party vendors on problems and solutions.
- Strong organizational skillset and ability to track multiple issues to resolution.
- Ability to lead a technical team of peers toward issue resolution.
- Experience utilizing issue/workflow ticket tracking systems like Jira, Service Now etc.
- History of acting as a subject matter expert and training peers and stakeholders.
- B.S. degree in CS or similar field, systems administration, or 5+ years of systems management experience in a professional production setting
- Demonstrated Expertise in PowerShell scripting, Ansible automation, Jenkins or BuildMaster CI/CD, GitHub, and SVN
- Exceptional skill configuring, running, monitoring, upgrades and tuning .NET Core applications running on Windows IIS with strong understanding of systems architecture.
- Good skill with querying SQL and one or more noSQL databases. MongoDB is a plus.
- Experience in one or more scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Go, etc)
- Self-motivated and collaborative.
- E-commerce industry experience is a plus.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000 annually Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
