ENSCO is seeking an innovative, creative, and highly motivated individual to support the U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command’s MILSATCOM Program through the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract. This position, located in El Segundo, CA, will support a diverse set of strategic MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
Duties include:
• Interface with Space Force customer, system stakeholders, and external contractors to coordinate cybersecurity/cryptographic requirements and architecture flow down from the system level to individual elements of the system
• Define security requirements, architecture, and design for embedded and largescale, distributed DoD space and ground control systems
• Perform systems engineering activities in the areas of Cryptographic System Security Engineering (SSE), in accordance with NSA requirements and regulations as well as Cybersecurity, Assessment & Authorization (A&A), Cyber System Integration Testing & Evaluation, and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) in accordance with NIST 800-53
• Support the SSC with ensuring security, quality, timeliness, mission partner support, completeness, and regulatory compliance of ATO RMF documentation
• Support the security control assessor (SCA) and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) curated to DOD/DAF/USSF baselines, audit standards, and plan of actions and milestones (POA&M)
• Attend cleared expert threat briefings; have oversight of security program design, incident response plans, cyber risk assessments, and attack surface assessments; investigate security breaches, perform red, blue, purple, ethical hacking, orchestrate vulnerability assessment, develop security protocols, conduct tabletop exercises, and breach readiness reviews
• Apply risk management concepts to mitigate vulnerabilities in system security architectures
• Support continuous monitoring or periodic scans of networked assets and conduct/oversee defensive cyber, threat intel, threat hunting, malware analysis, countermeasures/corrective action, and network analysis
• BA or BS degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, network, and telecommunications; information systems, information technology, or computer information systems
• 7+ years of work experience in System Engineering Architecture/Design
• 7+ years of work experience in Information Assurance (IA)/Cyber Security
• Understand modern computing architectures including CI/CD, microservices, cloud, and container technologies
• Understand the discipline and practice of Systems Engineering throughout the system lifecycle phases of concept, development, production, use, support, and retirement
• Knowledge and experience with public and private key governance/theory, Encryption Algorithms (substitution and transposition) as a Service, and Mathematical principles behind encryption
• Experience with leading risk management efforts to achieve and maintain authorization for systems using DoD RMF tools
• Experience with delivering cybersecurity architecture and engineering services
• Understand the discipline and practice of Systems Engineering throughout the system lifecycle phases of concept, development, production, use, support, and retirement
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teambuilding skills
• Strong writing and oral presentation skills; ability to write final version deliverable technical documents and reports
• RMF or DIACAP Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V)
• NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 RMF Analysis and Accreditation
• Knowledge of Network Engineering and Communication Systems
• Understand the NSA end cryptographic unit certification process
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position • Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering with an emphasis in IA/Cybersecurity
• 10+ years of work experience in IA/Cybersecurity
• 10+ years of work experience in System Engineering Architecture/Design
• DoD Space program experience
• Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E)
• Security certification (CISSP)
• TS/SCI clearance
