Summary:
Supervises the Sterile Supply and Sterile Processing departments for Outpatient Surgical Services. Supervises the activities involved in the acquisition, decontamination, storage, assembly, cleaning, and sterilization of medical, surgical, and related supplies, materials and equipment utilized in the care and treatment of patients and the operation of Sterile Processing/Sterile Supply Departments. Interfaces regularly with RN Managers, Operating Room staff, physicians, nurses and other personnel regarding products, sterile supplies, equipment, services, instruments, and other issues necessary to perform designated patient care medical and surgical procedures. Monitors and coordinates all activities related to Sterile Processing/Sterile Supplies. Serves as a liaison for Outpatient Surgical Services, resolves day to day operational issues/concerns, and coordinates meetings, program functions, and/or special events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and /or experience
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred
- Lean Six Sigma background preferred.
- National Certification in area of expertise preferred.
Experience & Training Required
- Five (5) years’ progressively responsible experience in a sterile processing, operating rooms or similar setting which has provided leadership skills.
- Acquired knowledge of decontamination and sterilization sciences, case cart systems and medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of the following: AAMI, AORN, FDA, JCAHO, OSHA, Word, Excel, Office software and analytical skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CS/SPD Certification
- Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

- Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
$22.99/hr - $34.49/hr
