The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator position is responsible for providing support to pilot plant operations by coordinating activities, materials, and equipment across various product technologies.
This position is based in Solon, OH.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ordering ingredients, stocking supplies, inventorying samples, and assembling customer shipments. Completion of training for safe handling of dry ice as required by standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Participating in departmental activities such as panels, meetings, committees, and administrative obligations (phone, email).
- Assisting with outside building sanitation, inspections, and other related activities as needed.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough records.
- Continuously improving technical and culinary skills through appropriate activities.
- Working in extreme temperatures and typical commercial/industrial environments. This role involves physically demanding work.
- Demonstrating proficient communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment under short timelines.
- Coordinating and performing maintenance and sanitation activities, including equipment set up/tear down, preventive maintenance, spare parts inventories, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
- Providing suggestions for processing and product improvement based on observations and system knowledge. Serving as a processing resource for teams utilizing the pilot plant equipment.
- Adhering to high sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety standards. Ensuring the pilot plant is well-organized and clean, and assisting with lower-level storage areas as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 + years of experience in the food industry, preferably in a similar role.
- Comfortable working in food manufacturing and culinary environments.
- Possession of a good driving record and a valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Ability to adapt work as needed to accomplish business needs.
SKILLS:
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with a creative mindset.
- Desirable mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with a variety of mechanical, electrical, and/or food processing systems is desirable.
- Ability to work independently while supporting the overall objectives of a team.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project/task environment and comfortable working with individuals of varying disciplines and levels, including upper management, sales, product development, marketing, research and development, manufacturing, and plant personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with FMS/DIS preferred.
- Computer proficiency in electronic communication.
- Strong time management skills.
- Good math and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
