Job Title: Ocean Freight Pricing Manager
Job Location: Newark, New Jersey
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pricing Team Manager, RFQ Team. In this role you will analyze and recommend appropriate pricing for DHL Ocean Freight products and services by conducting market analysis, competitor analysis, profitability analysis, and revenue simulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate timely, competitive and accurate responses to Global RFQs and local pricing requests.
- Manage staff and be ultimately accountable for the successful development of compliant, competitive, cogent, and compelling pricing proposals through effective collaboration across teams that include internal staff, corporate partners and supporting vendors
- Manage the pricing teams’ priorities and planning, including assignment of tasks.
- Support Country Ocean freight team in achieving revenue optimization by implementing rate restoration campaigns and follow ups.
- Mentoring/Coaching of Pricing Specialists as well as training of new hires
- Analyze and recommend appropriate pricing for DHL Ocean products and services for specific customers by applying guidelines, performing profitability analysis, analyze margin/revenue expectations and suggesting optimal pricing
- Work closely with Product and Sales Managers to develop strategies for new/ existing customers.
- Maintain Pricing Team performance and workload dashboards
- Lead internal and external relationship management, where required active engagement across all DHL business units and regions as well as customer interaction
- Manage and update pricing for existing customers
- Provide pricing for Sales growth on country level, support and follow up with Sales
- Support execution of commercial strategy in country
- Forecasts volume and revenue to use in financial and operational planning activities
- Ensure adequate opportunity prioritization, pricing, routing and solution design
- (timely and quality wise) in alignment with Sales
- Create, maintain and update regionally specific SOP’s
Skills / Requirements:
- BS in Business or Logistics, or comparable work experience in the field
- Minimum 5 year of experience in Ocean Pricing, RFP management
- Experience creating and managing all aspects of RFP’s
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptionally strong analytical and communication skills as well as meticulous attention to detail
- Outgoing personality, able to present and explain subject matter to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects, working well under pressure
- Ability to work independently taking ownership of deliverables
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills
