Job Abstract

Job Overview: The Coordinator of Clinical Partnerships for the School of Education, who reports to the School of Education Director, will work with P-12 districts, schools, and other agencies to arrange formal field-based partnerships for clinical practitioners, as well as required field-based clinical experiences, to meet state and accreditation teacher licensure requirements. The Coordinator of Clinical Partnerships will also:

Mentors Teachers & University Supervisors:

• Provide leadership for hiring, appointing (based on credentials and P-12 teaching experiences), professional development, and evaluation of all University Supervisors.
• Verify and maintain Mentor Teacher qualifications and review evaluations of Mentor Teachers to ensure quality.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings for University Supervisors regarding field placement and partnership policies and requirements.
• Organize and lead University Supervisor, Mentor Teacher, and faculty orientations and calibration training workshops.
• Collaborate with the School of Education Director and Education Coordinator to provide accurate, timely stipend and contract information to the Business Office for University Supervisors and stipend information for Mentor Teachers.

P-12 Partnerships:

• Visit schools and districts that are routinely used for partnerships to ensure the visibility of the university and to foster ongoing partnerships with school administrators, teachers, and families.
• Collaborate with faculty to support existing school-based partnerships and to foster new partnerships for course-embedded field experiences.
• Maintain alternative, diverse, and out-of-state partnerships with various school districts.
• Consult with faculty to ensure appropriate matches are made among candidates, University Supervisors, and Mentor Teachers.
• Initiate, track, review, monitor, and maintain the status of candidates’ field placements and all associated paperwork including request letters, school partnership agreements (MOUs), forms, and notification letters.
• Serve as a liaison between the Education Coordinator and partner districts to ensure all candidates have appropriate, current background checks prior to entering field placements.

Data & Reporting:

• Collect and track data on teacher candidates, field experiences, and school partnerships for state licensure and national accreditation purposes.
• Facilitate senior exit interviews by securing interviewers, training scorers, and maintaining results.
• Utilize Watermark (or other programs) for tracking all placements, University Supervisors, and Mentor Teachers, ensuring candidates have diverse experiences (content, grade bands, district types) and meet the number of required hours and/or meet the needs of the course assignments/projects.
• Develop reports at the end of each semester related to preclinical and clinical practice candidate performance (individually and by program) and Mentor Teacher and University Supervisor evaluations and qualifications.
• Lead technology initiatives that support candidates in the field and completion of licensure requirements (e.g., GoReact, 240 Tutoring, Google).
• Lead initiatives related to CAEP Standard 2: Clinical Partnerships and Practice.
• Collaborate with the School of Education Director, CAEP Coordinator, the Associate Director of Assessment and Licensure, and the Education Coordinator for accreditation, data, licensure, stipend, etc. purposes.

• Respond to inquiries from candidates, faculty, and school district contacts regarding practicum and field placements via phone, text, scheduled in-person and virtual appointments, walk-ins, and email.
• Schedule, coordinate, and direct seminars for clinical practice candidates.

• Maintain regular contact with supervisors of field experiences and trouble-shooting administrative and/or placement issues with students and faculty.
• Communication with updates at least every two weeks during the academic year with preclinical/clinical mentors and supervisors.
• Remain current on edTPA and other clinical placement/field requirements and facilitate local evaluation scoring and remediation.
• Serve as an active member of the Education Review Board.
• Serve as chair of the Partner Advisory Council, maintain membership, and host meetings at least once per semester and collaborate with School of Education Director, CAEP Coordinator, and other relevant School of Education faculty and staff regarding agenda items for meetings.
• Attend meetings as necessary (e.g., CAEP, OCTEO, OAPCTE) and provide data for any state partnerships (e.g., CPAST, Pre-CPAST).
• Advise undergraduate students, as necessary.
• Teach one undergraduate four-credit course or the equivalent annually.

Master’s degree is required. Experience in at least two of the following areas is required: P-12 administration or teaching, university teaching at graduate or undergraduate level, supervision of field work. Strong knowledge of Google, Microsoft Office, and related technology is required. The Coordinator of Clinical Partnerships will also possess excellent communication skills, great attention to detail, and demonstrate an ability to work in a highly collaborative team-based environment.
