POSITION SUMMARY:

The DuquesneUniversity Center for Integrative Health (DUCIH), founded in 2020, is advancingthe science and practice of integrative health equity - focusing on all facetsof health and wellness – biological, psychological, social and spiritual. The DUCIHbrings together faculty, staff, health equity faculty fellows and a growingportfolio of external funding. Under thegeneral direction of the Center Director, the Director of Business andAdministration (DOBA) will direct and oversee all business-related activitiesof the Center. The Center workscollaboratively with schools and offices across campus, thus, the DUCIH DOBAwill work closely with DOBA’s across campus. The DUCIH DOBA will be responsible for managing and controllingaccounting, budgeting, auditing and other financial or related functions toensure the financial integrity of the Center.

This position reports to the Director,Duquesne University Center for Integrative Health and is a partially grantfunded position.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Projects financial needs of DUCIH andoversees annual budget development. Develops strategic financial plan,including forecasting for operational and personnel salary decisions for CenterStaff. Anticipate needs of the Center and implement strategies to address.Oversight of multiple grant budgets which may total more than $2 million.Audits grant budgets and is responsible for compliance with University, stateand federal regulations.

Works with Directors of BusinessAdministration across campus on business side of collaborative projects,programs and grants. Participates in University Business Manager’s Meetings.

Ensures efficient coordination ofvarious department and subsidiary financial accounts by designing budgetingsystems and records which are compatible with the University's accounting andreporting systems.

Advises management regarding financialdecisions by providing accurate information regarding the financial status ofindividual accounts and interpreting University financial reports. Preparesdetailed budget reports on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis; auditscurrent procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations.

Collects and analyzes financial andother statistical data for the preparation of financial and non-financialreports; establishes reporting deadlines for those providing data for thesereports. Prepares various reports for senior leadership and external funders.

Serves as liaison to various offices oncampus which may include, the Department of Planning and Budget, the Office ofthe Controller, Human Resources, Payroll, and Office of the Associate Provostfor Administration.

Serves as liaison to Human Resources andPayroll. Main point of contact for all Center staff on all human resources andpayroll related matters. Processes employment and payroll related documents.Prepares employment contracts.

Assists faculty and staff withinterpretation of University policies and procedures, may include creatingformal training sessions; oversees P-Card activities and reporting.

Supervises, guides, and directs allbusiness-related work of Center Staff.

Manages all internal and externalcontractual agreements such as Business Associate Agreements (BAA) andcontracts with third party vendors.

Remains competent and current throughself-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts withcolleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending trainingand/or courses as required.

Performs related duties andresponsibilities as assigned.

DUCIH staffduties as assigned by Director.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accreditedinstitution with major course work in accounting, finance, businessadministration, or closely related field of study and a minimum of 5 years ofprogressively responsible and related budget and personnel managementexperience within a higher education environment.

Preferred qualifications:

An advanced degree (MBA)from an accredited institution and 7-10 years of related experience ispreferred and highly desirable.

Ability to use an ERP (EnterpriseResource Planning), experience with Ellucian Banner preferred.

Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required toperform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, thefollowing:

Knowledge of Human Resources, Purchasingand Payroll systems required.

Strong computer skills, includingknowledge of the entire MS Office Suite. Advanced skill in the use of MS Excelfor the development of spreadsheets and management reports using graphs andcharts is required

Effective organizational andadministrative skills required. Knowledge of management and supervisionpractices and techniques.

Knowledge of accounting and budgetarytheory, principles and practices

Knowledge of state and federal laws andregulations pertaining to departmental budgets and accounting practices
