Overview
The Media Relations Coordinator (“MRC”) will play a crucial role in managing the organization's public image and enhancing brand awareness through effective media relations strategies. The MRC will work closely with senior leadership to manage relationships with the media, coordinate all media interactions for important Company events, and assist the General Counsel, the company spokesperson, to deliver effective communications with the media. Candidates must possess excellent analytical skills in order to be considered for this role.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement media relations strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance brand visibility.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media professionals and journalists to secure positive media coverage.
Write press releases, media pitches, and other materials to communicate key messages and announcements to the media.
Monitor media coverage and prepare detailed media reports analyzing the Company’s presence in the media landscape.
Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and other events to promote company initiatives and achievements.
Plan, coordinate, and organize photographers, videographers, and other professionals for groundbreakers, new store openings, and for other Company events where the media will be present.
Assist the spokesperson for the organization to effectively communicate key messages to media representatives and the public.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, social media, and internal communications teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all channels.
Stay updated on industry trends, news cycles, and best practices in media relations to identify opportunities for proactive media outreach.
Manage media inquiries and arrange interviews with executives and subject matter experts.
Maintain confidentiality
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:
Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
Proven experience (6 years) in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with media contacts.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in drafting press releases, media pitches, and media briefing materials.
Familiarity with media monitoring tools and techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and media relations software/tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is a plus.
Previous experience in crisis communication management is desirable.
Strategic thinker with a proactive and creative approach to media relations.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work independently when necessary.
Adaptable to changing priorities and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
