In this role, you will be primarily focused on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services. You will be responsible for a range of tasks including order entry, order management, customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, glasswash operations, and lab-based tasks such as reagent preparation.

Location/Division Specific Information

Location: New Haven, CT

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm

Pay: $20-$23/hr, depending on experience

• Perform various activities using Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management electronic systems

• Engage in laboratory services including order delivery, glassware processing, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and reagent preparation

• Follow work processes as outlined by our written procedures

• Proactively communicate with your supervisor regarding customer concerns and potential problems

• Listen to customer concerns and effectively address issues with a goal of resolution within established timeframe

• Engage in process improvement activities

• Additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Education:

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:

• 1+ years of equivalent experience within a laboratory setting or services, preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Strong communication skills and a desire to deliver excellent customer service

• Interpersonal skills to collaborate with personnel at the customer site

• Operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems

• Analytical skills to reconcile reports

• Computer proficiency, including intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite

• Organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently at customer sites, including spaces where chemical-based allergens may be in use

• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
