As a seasoned, experienced professional in K-14 academic preparation, the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) Lead Coordinator will independently work with assigned partner schools and community-based organizations to plan and implement a wide range of academic preparation programming. They will develop and maintain program visibility in schools, in addition to maintaining and cultivating relationships with higher education institutions and/or community entities. The EAOP Lead Coordinator will also develop and implement events and summer programs for the wider San Francisco student population.
The EAOP Lead Coordinator’s primary responsibility involves planning, developing, implementing and evaluating program activities, counseling, tutoring, and advising focused on students’ successful graduation from high school and career readiness. The EAOP Lead Coordinator will work with students, program alumni, teachers, counselors, the school district, community stakeholders, and parents and will provide college advising and educational opportunities such as field trips and campus visits to students and parents in partner schools. In addition, the Lead Coordinator will implement citywide events and summer programs, and has the responsibility to keep records of the numbers and demographics of students, teachers, and parents served in all of these efforts.
As EAOP Lead Coordinator, they will work closely with the Director of College Prep Programs to improve service quality and visibility of EAOP at partner schools in SFUSD. They are expected to leverage their knowledge, skills, and professional experience to support EAOP expansion at new school sites. Additionally, the EAOP Lead Coordinator will establish and maintain comprehensive partnerships with other school sites, community-based programs and school districts to create an ecosystem of support for EAOP students and their families.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $65,600 - $98,400 (Annual Rate).

- Master's degree in related area with 5 to 7 yrs. experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies
- Knowledge of youth and adolescent development theory, including issues facing low-income, first generation urban youth
- Strong knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related area with 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 + years of experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population
- Knowledge of K-12 and higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts
- Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status.
- Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Significant experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers
- Demonstrate organizational and program coordination skills, including the ability to set priorities and work on several projects simultaneously
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
- Must be available for some evening and weekend activities
