Job Abstract

Vacaville is a manufacturing organization responsible for the reliable delivery of biologics drug substance, both for Roche’s commercial portfolio as well as launch products.

The Opportunity: 

In this exciting role you will conduct routine and non-routine analysis, including but not limited to biochemical and chemical analysis, of raw materials, in-process items and finished product according to established operating procedures. Compiles data for documentation of test procedures that may include stability program testing and formulation studies. Calibrates and maintains lab and analytical equipment. Participates in the preparation of investigations, summaries and reports. Reviews data obtained for compliance to specifications and reports abnormalities. Revises and updates standard operating procedures as needed. May perform special projects on analytical and instrument problem solving. May develop testing and analysis methods and procedures in accordance with established guidelines.

• You will perform a broad variety of basic and moderate complex tests in support of lab operations

• You will perform testing of routine and non-routine samples and documents according to GMP

• You will perform routine lab maintenance

• You will prepare basic and complex reagents as assigned

• You will order and maintain lab supply inventory

• You will aliquot samples as required, including aseptic aliquoting

• You will participate in assay transfer and assay validation

• You will perform equipment qualification/maintenance

• You will coordinate with customers to support operational activities.

• You will identify and support resolution of technical problems.

• You will actively participate in group and project teamwork; project and process improvements.

• You will adhere to GMP policies and procedures, including documentation activities.

• You will perform other duties as requested by supervisor/manager to support Quality 

Who you are: 

• You hold a B.S. /B.A. degree and one year experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• You possess solid verbal and written skills

• You routinely exercise sound judgment, reasoning and problem solving.

• You are capable of working under direct supervision and determining your own short term priorities.

Work Environment:

• Physical requirements - Prolonged periods of standing at lab bench top. Frequent lifting (up to 10 lbs), bending, reaching, twisting. Use of step ladders and push carts required.

• Position may involve use of reagents and other chemical compounds, including but not limited to acetonitrile, chlorine, acids and bases, biologic toxins, microorganisms and potent compounds.

• Pass visual screening, as required

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Vacaville, CA is $54,000 to $118,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors (Overtime) permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
