Position at SBM Management
The Visual Designer will be responsible for creating visually engaging, innovative, and functional designs in conjunction with SBM. The individual will work in combination with Writers and Designers on all design solutions and is responsible for producing visual designs in support of the Marketing team. The designer will provide expertise in visual design as well as the generation of new and innovative ways to market SBM and advance company growth. This position will help fulfill assignments for customer-facing and internal projects such as mock-ups of design concepts, presentations, print collateral, multimedia, Website content management and Web graphics, promotional items.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with designers and design leadership to develop our visual language and apply it across the many surfaces of our products
Apply innovative visual design problem-solving skills within the shared visual design language, and aesthetic of the SBM brand
Contribute to, or own, the concept and production of style guides to establish and drive a cohesive product vision
Work to creative brief and shows understanding and relevance to the target market
Assist the Marketing team and Marketing Director by creating designs that can be used in media and print to support the development and growth of the business
Develop and execute marketing programs to promote the company's brand
Identify brand-building areas
Ensure brand consistent with the company and brand positioning
Design and produce print and web materials
Stay up to date with UX trends and consistently come up with creative ideas and inspiration in parallel analogous worlds
Be enthusiastic about everything UX/UI and other areas of design and innovation
Remain knowledgeable in the industry's latest trends and technologies
Adapt to the changing needs of the department, develops new skills, and assists with projects outside of normal job responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
BA/BFA/BS or equivalent four-year degree or higher with a focus on graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field with 1-3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
Excellent design sense and the ability to iterate design concepts quickly and skillfully
Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch
Ability to research and develop comprehensive design concepts that are both unique and imaginative, while being current and relevant
Well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and helpful, and an insightful self-starter
Ability to create and share strong narrative presentations to show designs to internal teams
Able to produce original assets for final content design projects
Quick learner with an avid curiosity and sense of passion for design and culture
Proficiency in illustration and visualization, along with a sophisticated knowledge of typography and layout are key skills as well
A portfolio of work that showcases your wide and varied talent
Outstanding verbal communication skills
Excellent collaborative skills
Experience with HTML and CSS
Be able to update templates in code
