The Reverse Logistics Capacity Planning Manager is responsible for managing and driving all internal and external activities related to global returns processing, refurbishment capacity planning, production commitments for product returns supply planning, and network optimization. To succeed in this role, you must be a data driven, business-oriented individual with a strategic mindset, who is able to successfully deliver for the customer through collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will not only ensure global execution and delivery, you will create, from the ground up, the organization's foundational capability for operational scalability. You will develop strategic initiatives supporting long-term goals and create new data analytics tools which provide the inputs that enable the business to scale through strategic operations planning, across multiple global sites and partners.
Key job responsibilities
Build, maintain and run the operations capacity planning process to support global returns processing, refurbishment and repair operations.
Develop a deep understanding of the global screening and repair operations to create an optimized commit plan by evaluating forecasted returns, WIP, capacity, labor, and material availability. Bridge variations to the plan and identify opportunities to improve execution and accuracy.
Develop, own, monitor, and clearly communicate the delivery to commit status with a recovery plan or risks to stakeholders and senior leadership by working with operations and material supply chain organizations.
Develop simulation models for the global network to improve our understanding of the various cost drivers and how to best control them, while managing risk, reliability and availability.
Identify improvement opportunities and investment requirements for our global operating network and lead cross functional capacity optimization efforts.
Establish the strategy and develop mechanisms to create and manage complex reverse supply chains using analytics and critical thinking to extract meaningful insights from large datasets. Translate these insights into actionable recommendations to enable decision making and optimize business processes.
Ownership of global inventory management throughout the reverse supply chain for devices and accessories.
This role requires 15% travel.

The Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics organization is a stand alone operations organization supporting all facets of operations, including engineering, supply chain, forecast/planning, and operations management. The team's support of global returns across all product categories allows the team to work autonomously to provide the most cost-effective customer experience for product returns and warranty services.
The RL teams mission is to delight consumer electronic customers worldwide by offering an OEM returns experience that delivers maximum margin recovery through flexible, world-class products & services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning or other quantitative field, or equivalent industry experience
5+ years in program or project management
5+ years Planning experience in a consumer market segment company
5+ years supply chain management and relevant experience supply/capacity planning analysis including ability to manage large volume of data and aggregating data to support other functions that plan sourcing, production, and delivery requirements.
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience creating and managing advanced models and scenarios analysis in Microsoft Excel including Excel advanced functions (pivots, lookups, macros, and index)
Strong verbal and written communication skills: 5+ years experience presenting to senior leadership.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree - Supply Chain Management, MBA, Operations Management, or similar
- APICS certified
- Ability to effectively communicate across multiple disciplines and levels, ranging from senior management to peers
- Ability to ensure execution to performance goals, while remaining focused on strategic development and automation improvement
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market.
