Role and Responsibilities
The Logistics Strategy & Planning team’s Logistics Process Innovation Sr. Manager is responsible for identifying and closely managing process and systems innovation projects, including all steps of the project : gather requirements, confirm executive alignment, facilitate progress for design and test, communicate ongoing status, and lead training and implementation activities. It is important for the candidate to have a good understanding of Project Management, as well as deep Logistics Processes and Systems knowledge in the areas of Inbound, Outbound, Warehouse Management/Inventory Management, and Reverse Logistics operations. The best candidate will be able to thoroughly understand Samsung’s processes and systems and quickly identify and implement system and process design changes needed. The candidate must be able to communicate very well with systems teams (detailed technical discussions), operations teams (business processes and requirements discussions), and executives (cost and status discussions). The candidate also must be able to deliver excellent results every day, be highly focused, operate in a fast-paced environment, and be flexible to adjust to changing priorities each day as needed. Additional hours will usually be needed to ensure projects are delivered on time, accurately, thoroughly tested, and users are well-trained
- Understand existing Samsung process and systems and identify improvements that will integrate well into the Samsung environment
- Perform data analysis when needed for root cause on systems or process issues
- Initiate design discussions and support workshops to outline new Logistics process and system changes
- Review VOC (voice of customer) requests, confirming design elements align with Samsung strategy, confirm testing is completed appropriately by stakeholders before moving to production
- Understand current market solutions and how Samsung needs to adapt existing processes and systems to stay competitive
- Document systems requirements that an SAP engineering technical team can clearly understand
- Implement efficient and innovative Logistics processes and systems for Inbound, Warehouse, Inventory, Outbound, and Reverse Logistics operations
- Deliver sustainable solutions from setup & design through to implementation & support
- Manage and regularly communicate project status to stakeholders; Keep technical request trackers updated daily with current status
- Support discussions and documentation with Global HQ relating to assessment of new technical solutions
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science degree required (Business Information Management or Engineering)
- 10+ years of hands on ERP and WMS/TMS experience required
- 10+ years of Logistics experience required
- 6+ years of Project Management experience
- 6+ years of Process Improvement / Root cause analysis / Data Analysis experience
- 6+ years of Consumer Electronics and Home Appliance industry experience
- Exceptionally skilled in Microsoft tools (Excel, Powerpoint)
- Experience communicating/working with Warehouse 3PLs, Finance teams, & Supply Chain
- Skilled in communicating status, requests, analysis to executives
- Bilingual (Korean/English) highly preferred
- Experience with planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple complex assignments and projects and successfully driving them to completion within highly aggressive timelines
- Proven success in a highly dynamic, fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organization, communication, problem solving and data analytical skills
- Be self-motivated, organized, and operate effectively with little direction
- Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal more than 90 percent of work time.
- Ability to work additional hours beyond normal schedule as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Occasional travel to warehouses or other company / service provider locations for meetings; travel estimated at ~10 percent.
