As an Inpatient Physical Therapist, you will provide comprehensive physical therapy services to patients with diverse health conditions on the evening shift (11 am - 7 pm). You will collaborate with physicians, healthcare teams, and families to develop and implement personalized treatment plans. Your role will be vital in helping patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life. This role offers the unique schedule of Tuesday - Saturday shifts allowing you to enjoy your Sundays and Mondays off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and Treatment: Perform thorough physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients, modifying plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients and their families on care and management techniques, including the use of equipment such as wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, walkers, prosthetics, and orthotics.
- Collaborative Care: Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Therapeutic Techniques: Utilize a variety of treatment techniques and skills to address different physical problems and disabilities.

Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited college program in Physical Therapy (B.A./B.S. in Physical Therapy or higher degree).
- Licensure: New York State license or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience: Prior acute care hospital experience required; successful completion of an orientation program according to department guidelines.
- Certification: BLS (through the American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire.
- Skills: Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; ability to interact constructively with patients and colleagues.
