Billing Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

To support and coordinate the billing and financial functions and services of the Practice for the patients and physicians.

EDUCATION:

College degree or equivalent preferred. In lieu of a degree/formal course work, 10+ years of experience is required.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years physician billing, accounts receivable and collection experience, prior experience in professional fee/office practice billing. Coding experience. Maternal Fetal Medicine and/or OB/GYN billing preferred. Managed care experience preferred. Knowledge of third party healthcare reimbursement regulations., CPT and ICD-9 Coding, Practice Management Software (AthenaNet), Electronic Medical Record experience (EMR) preferred, must have the ability to independently draft letters to patients, proven ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Knowledge of general business software, applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook etc), high level of listening skills. Ability to communicate accurately and concisely, aptitude to work independently and demonstrate good judgment, knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.).

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Strong communication skills and Math skills. Ability to operate general office equipment and computers. Competent in Microsoft Excel software. Ability to work well under pressure, tolerate frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, effective problem solving of complex situations, organized.
