Job Abstract

The Online School Counselor works with all secondary counselors district wide and creates an online program that focus on student outcomes, teaches student competencies and delivered with identified professional competencies; provides students with advice postsecondary education, careers and other major life issues; plays a significant role in the lives of students through group and one-on-one counseling sessions.

• Enrollment into online school Independent Studies enrollment for Secondary Schools grades 6-12 Dual enrollment for 15+ sites using OSPS system and power schools.

• Placement into appropriate TOR based on student home site in appropriate course section numbers.

• Placement into first time credit or credit recovery Following priority placement Marking request as complete.

• Ensuring teachers are within cap Enrollment based on site allocations.

• Supporting Learning Coaches and Teachers Of Record (TOR’s) Students in lab with no course request.

• Student Monitoring Support Double check required courses on SDUSD OSPS.

• Correct enrollment in Edgenuity Add, delete, or archive courses in Edgenuity Update grading metrics in Edgenuity Supporting Site techs: Grade Change request I/IPs Grade Submissions Early Completers.

• Supporting site counselors: Request updates Information on all students currently enrolled in courses at sites by course and teacher of record Information on student requests by priority submitted by site counselors.

• Help with how to request courses Students needing a second course after early completion Questions on student progress Generate and share reports: students enrolled in completed course, student priorities, student dashboard updates/progress, students without a course request Allocation updates Course offering questions.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

A valid, current, and appropriate California state credential for Specialization in School Counseling.
